Mary and Steve. OMG Mary and Steve. Married and living in extended care, hoarders of books, newspapers, and aggitation. They never

had children, I assume by choice. They had separated beds and separate recliners. Often upon my arrival they'd hiss back and forth insults of one kind or another.... little digs. I always wondered why they'd stay together nevermind share a room at their ripe old age. They'd fight so bad, about once a week, the Monroe County Police would find him on route 1 picking key limes and stop and yell "hey steve, c mon....got to get you home....cant be out here stealing folk's limes", Steve reluctantly would get in the back of the cruiser and come "home". Mary would act like she never noticed him gone. They'd go back to normal. This was their love. They fought but they loved. I loved their awnry behavior. I loved that they loved eachother. They were my opposite of Mr and Mrs J. I realized there is a happy blissful in between. One night angry Mary was out on the terrace drinking her coffee and i was leaving. I noticed a huge angry scorpion headed right toward her and her diabetic legs. I yanked her coffee out of her hands dumped it's contents on the ground and dropped it on top of the scorpion twist it and cut off his tail. mind you, I was terrified of these beasts.... but my girl was in danger and killing it was unfathomable.... they're the size of mice there. They taught me unconventional love works and scorpions can't hurt you without their tails....those claws are jokes🦂
